Mike Liciardello joined Rice Financial’s trading desk in 2018 to develop and manage the firm’s new Equity Trading Desk. Mr. Liciardello has over 20 years of experience in prime services, global settlements, clearing, risk and operations. In the early 1990s, he was the head of the institutional side of the business at Preferred Trade, a U.S. broker‐dealer that provided execution services for market makers on the U.S. options exchanges. While at Preferred Trade, he started a prime brokerage business that serviced off‐floor accounts with clearing, execution and stock loan services. Preferred Trade was later acquired by Société Générale, and Mr. Liciardello was named head of prime brokerage in the U.S. in 2006.

In the three years that followed, he grew SocGen’s prime brokerage business from $10 million in yearly revenue to $250 million. In this role, Mr. Liciardello hired the risk, operations and sales staff; internalized clearing globally by picking an off‐the‐shelf solution as a business sponsor; and developed and implemented a clearing system in the U.S., Canada, Europe and South America. Mr. Liciardello holds Series 7, 24 and 6 registrations from FINRA.
